Welcome to The StopRush Project

Doing the hard work needed to reduce all the hate emanating from America's leading gasbag: Rush Limbaugh

RT @shoq: RUSH just said the purpose of his program was to create "Informed voters." But wait, wasn't he "just an entertainer?"

Important Things To Do Here

  • Submit A Report — About a sponsor, a statement, news, humor, whatevs!
  • Volunteer  — We always need help...
  • Inform Us  —Tell us about some StopRush project you've seen somewhere
  • Do Something — on our Actions Page

Status of Rush Limbaugh's Sponsors

Sponsors of radio programs can be tricky to identify and verify. Please read our FAQ for how we do this.   There are two regions in the list below.

  • Top region shows Active Sponsors — those who are still advertising on the Limbaugh show, and who are ripe current targets for your tweets, emails, phone calls, or other pressure efforts.
  • Bottom region shows Former Sponsors  —  who should receive  praise for doing so. Those whose status indicates  Former are national advertisers—national advertisers, commercial or nonprofit—who have dropped their ads from the show.  Avoiders are advertisers who have asked Premiere Networks to avoid placing their ads on Rush's show, and sometimes on other hyper-partisan radio shows. In effect, sponsors, whether for-profit, or not-for-profit are realizing that any association with this kind of partisan hate radio is a potential negative branding that they are better off avoiding altogether.
  • Why we show more former sponsors than others — some published accounts (such as ThinkProgress.org,) seem to exclude non-profits. This is an unnecessary and wrong distinction, in our view. It should not matter whether someone pays for an advertisement or not. What matters is whether they choose to appear at all.  Thus, as far as StopRush Project is concerned, a nonprofit that asks to avoid or drops, is no different than a commercial advertiser doing the same.
